Kei's Specialties is a home based micro bakery business, located in Hercules, CA. We bake a few Filipino specialty breads like ube ensaymada, cheese rolls and ube cheese pandesal.

It all started when Kei, a HS freshman teenager who is an avid cookie and french macaron baker, has been looking for ways to spend her summer vacation, after months of distant learning due to Covid-19 shelter-in-place order. Since a lot of people were spending their time on social media and making food as a pastime activity, Mom Bhel and daughter Kei jumped on the bandwagon and baked their first beautiful purple bread rolls, the special ube cheese pandesal. It became an instant hit in their household. They decided to share it on social media. The next day, they made their first batch of orders.

A few weeks later, friends of friends started ordering. Mom and daughter were not prepared to do bigger production. Dad Arman noticed a lot of things can be improved to operate efficiently. Being an experienced chef and manager in the food and hospitality industry, he did not hesitate to bring his expertise in his own home. He later took the production/owner role and registered the business as a cottage food operator.
